Good evening Diane and Jim. We are getting lovely things from you to look at and a lovely shed and a deer. What a dream. Thank you for lighting our day.
It must be quite exciting living in Paradise, but cold just now. Here we have our first day of sun and it is 15 c today after a very long winter and electric blankets, up to last night.
Anyway we wish you a nice holiday if that is possible, you might get one every time you look out of the windows. So Happy New year to come and all the very best from Juliette and Michael. I am the juliette writing usually.

Hello Winlaw again. Michael wants to know please...is it a a deer or a moose. This was a heavy talking point this morning with Katherine. Today is splendidly warm and blue. Have a nice evening Juliette

Hello Juliette and Michael, Season's greetings to you both!
It's a bachelor elk (member of the deer family) and he was very big! Some nights I hear him bugle in the distance. If you want to know more about elk, here's an interesting website that even has sound clips:

hi my name is mitch and i also live in winlaw b.c. isn't just incredible to be living in such a tranquil and peacful section of the planet. i was wondering if the picture of frog peak area is taken from the bluff down the trail from the reki woman laveenas house? i seriously love the valley i go hiking around perry ridge and alot of other backcountry areas. iu was also fortunate to be apart of the valhalla wilderness program yeeeeeooow i cant wait to go snowboarding in our prestine backcountry snow. any way i found this site becuse im looking for pictures of the area since im in vancouver for a week and i noticed that your picture seemed like it was taken from that bluff i am 17 years old and have been living in an old doukhabor house in appledale im so stoked on life in this valley it's uncomprehendable.
but unfourtunately the population is always growing out here so it wont be quite the same in the future it is too bad that so many hippies consider this paradise but it is isn't it!!!!!!
