First Nations biography receives Honourable Mention

Tyee Ha'wiih Earl Maquinna George, First Hereditary Chief of Ahousaht First Nation of Clayoquot Sound received an Honourable Mention from the Lieutenant-Governor's Medal for Historical Writing Competition for his book, Living on the Edge, Nuu-Chah-Nulth History from an Ahousaht Chief's Perspective. Chief George's book was based on his thesis written when he attended the University of Victoria, pursuing a university education in order to set an example for others (particularly the younger generation): to value education and to complete a difficult task. His message was clear: if an elderly chief can do it, then so can you.
Congratulations Chief George, it was an honour and privilege to publish your book.
