Slocan River shots

Jim and I had to drive to Passmore this afternoon so I took my camera along to get a few pictures of the flooded Slocan River. They're a bit blurry because I took them when the car was moving.

Rain, rain, go away!

We've had incredibly warm weather recently - last week it averaged 30 degrees every day. Although it's been wonderful for the gardens, these higher than normal temperatures mean the snowpack in the nearby mountains is melting too quickly and creeks and rivers are overflowing from the abundance of water. Passmore, a community 15 km south of Winlaw has been in the news recently as many of its residents have been forced to evaculate their flooded homes situated near the Slocan River. The heavy rain that we've had over the last few days isn't helping the situation. To read more about this, click here.
