A week of our mom's

What a week it's been. Sadly, Jim's mother died on Thursday, June 2. She was a wonderful person and had a great sense of humour. We're so glad we were able to visit her last month. Then on Monday, my mom arrived for her very first visit to us here in the Kootenay's. She loves it here and of course fell in love with our Gus. We spent a day in Nelson and had a delicious dinner at the All Season's Cafe with my daughter Jen and her boyfriend. Jim had to leave the next day to visit his father, so my mom (who's an excellent gardener) and I visited a few of my friend's gardens here in Winlaw that will be featured in Katherine Gordon's Slocan Valley gardening book that we're publishing next year.
